Rope Lead questions

Why a climbing rope lead?

Climbing-grade rope is built to handle sudden, heavy loads, exactly what happens when a dog lunges. The natural stretch absorbs shock instead of jolting your arm or your dog. Plus it's soft in the hand, doesn't burn or chafe, and looks beautiful.

Are the climbing rope leads suitable for big or strong dogs?

Yes, these are built specifically for active and strong dogs. Our climbing rope is rated for human body weight in real climbing applications, so it more than handles the strongest pullers. Pair with a Pawshtails harness for the safest, most controlled walks.

How is this different from your standard functional lead?

Functional leads use webbing — slim, lightweight, ideal for everyday walks. Climbing rope leads use thicker rope with natural stretch, premium aluminium hardware, and a more substantial feel. They're our premium tier and built for owners who want extra strength and a statement piece.

Can I machine wash a climbing rope lead?

We recommend hand washing with warm water but please avoid submerging the black tubing. Avoid bleach, tumble dryers, or irons. Hang to dry. Climbing rope is built to last decades of outdoor use.

What length should I choose?

120cm is our standard length and works for most owners — short enough for control, long enough for relaxed walks. We also offer custom sizes for training or extra freedom on quiet walks (but please these are non return and non refundable). All our climbing rope leads are handmade to the same premium standard.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Yes, we ship across Europe and to selected international destinations. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout. UK orders over £59 ship free; international rates vary by country and weight.

How are climbing rope dog leads made?

We don't compromise on the rope. We source from specialist climbing manufacturers across Europe, each tested by the UIAA (the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) and built to hold human climbers on real rock faces. Yes, it's over-engineered for dogs. That's the point.

Once we have the rope, our UK team cuts it to length and secures each end with the strongest knots we know the kind that hold weight on a climb, not just a dog on a walk.

We then mould protective tubing over the ends of each knot, locking everything in place and giving the lead its clean finish.

Every single lead is hand-finished and tested before it leaves the workshop. Built to last, tested for safety, and made in Britain.
