Made by a Min Pin
Pawshtails was born because our little dog wriggled out of every single harness we tried. So we made our own.
An escapologist with four legs.
Pawshtails started with one dog, many failed harnesses, and a problem that nobody seemed to be solving properly.
That dog was Otis, a Miniature Pinscher with strong opinions about treats and an uncanny ability to reverse out of any harness we put him in. The first one, he wriggled free of within minutes. The second, he found a way around. The third broke entirely.
We knew there had to be a better way. So we started designing one.
How it became Pawshtails
We didn’t have a manufacturing background. What we had was a small workshop, a determined dog, and a vision: a harness that worked with a dog’s body, not against it.
We sourced quality materials, learned to work with industrial sewing machines, and tested everything. We first tested on Otis, then on a small pack of friends’ dogs of every shape and size. From a Cockapoo to a big Dalmatian. We refused to launch a product until every dog in the pack approved.
That’s still how we work today.
Otis showed us the way.
On 02/01/2026, we suddenly had to say goodbye to Otis.
He was eight years old. A Miniature Pinscher with the personality of a much bigger dog. The first dog we ever made a harness for, the dog we tested every product on, and the reason any of this exists at all.
He was opinionated about treats. He loved walks on the beach and he had a way of standing at the workshop door that meant “are we going home for warm cuddles yet”. He napped in the Pawshtails mobile whilst we did local deliveries and was by our side every day for eight years.
Losing him broke us. The workshop is quieter without him. Some days the gap feels too big to keep going.
But we’ve chosen to keep going. Because the work he inspired isn’t finished, and because every dog who walks safely in a Pawshtails harness owes something to the dog who tested it first.
So we carry on in his honour. Every design is still tested by our pack, friends’ dogs and trusted customers of every shape and size who stepped into the role he played. Every harness is still made with the same uncompromising standards he set. And every parcel that leaves our workshop carries a little of him with it.
This is the business he made. We’re proud to keep building it.
